a friend has sent me a mp3 recording of the lecture from the 2007 district assembly entitled: "the superiority of being taught by jehovah" which discourages higher education.

this one is from the nottingham (u.k.) assembly this year.

i thought it would be interesting to compare this with the mp3 of the same lecture from georgia (usa) which was posted earlier here on jwd.

Thank you for the talk from the U.K. and comparing it to the U.S.A. talk.

Another example that it is not from God because he values higher education and wants the best for his people!

What are these which are arrayed In white robes?

But increasing numbers of those who needed the message and who showed zeal in the witness work came to profess an interest in living forever in the Paradise earth. Ok, this is an easy one! Read from the book of Ezekiel 48:35 "Round about [there will be] eighteen thousand [cubits]; and the name of the city from [that] day on will be Jehovah Himself Is There.”

YOU can end it with New Heavens and New Earth! and the prince your prince will be coming to the holy city! maybe he will have his own lot of land? Need to read Ezekiel!

I think it is a promise that we as JW can look forward to seeing and coming up to God kingdom to worship!

The householder can agree with you and thank you for pointing out Ezekiel as evidence of God's kingdom with his son ruling!

What happens to Christ after he subjects himself to God?

1 cor 15:28 - when he has done this, then the son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that god may be all in all.

what happens to jesus at this point?

if he is part of a trinity, does he meld into god and disappear?

Perhaps Jesus will turn all power and authority back to His God, Jehovah. I am okay with that wonderful thought of a loving son handing over the kingdom to Jehovah.

There really is something that WTBTS can not take away and that is my love for Jehovah and his son Jesus. I am not making Jesus lower than the angels but I am not making him higher than my Almighty God Jehovah!

I hope a lot of exjw do not fall back into trinity mind set or gnostic ways!

Do you think the society will abandon 1914?

it seems to me that they're slowly dismantling the date theology that ties the end times to this period in history.

first, they updated the generation teaching to mean a figurative generation, thus removing the possibility in the near future when all who were alive in 1914 are dead.

then, they abandoned 1935 so the annointed will never die off, and prove their belief that the annointed will see armageddon wrong.

No, because they have to add Noah's one hundred and twenty years of preaching to 1914. I really do not see them getting rid of the date! I heard rumors that they stopped using the date as much! during the meetings.

Who REALLY is the Faithful and Discreet Slave?

1 page 805. as we all know when the term faithful and discreet slave is used by the witnesses it is usually always about the governing body.

in most prayers we hear at the meeting we hear the brother asking jehovah to direct the fds.. notice who the insight book says the faithful and discreet slave is,.

Yeah Gumby I did notice it says "ALL" but the JW says that "ALL" only applies to the FDS class. Did it mean all or a few?

Is it true that the WT uses hypnosis covertly during KH meetings?

i personally am a sceptic regarding the validity of hypnosis as a form of mind control.

i associate it with entertainment tricks pulled by stage performers.. i never experienced any weird happenings during my only two visits to a kh.

is anyone able to refute me?

i was doing an image search on google and found a link to a website that appears to fully support the watchtower org.

interesting thing to me is the pictures that it shows, some i have never seen in offical literature, yet they look like they couldve have been ones made but not used, or something i dont know.. and others that resemble images from books such as the revelation book... (the city, pearls etc).
